Children's safety comes first
Everyone who works with us, whether staff, volunteer, donor or visitor, shares responsibility for keeping children safe.
What we expect
- Treat every child with respect, whatever their background, gender, caste or religion
- Never use physical punishment or humiliating language
- Avoid being alone with a child, out of sight of others
- Never ask a child for personal contact or contact them privately
- Take and share photos of children only with consent, and in ways that protect their dignity
Raising a concern
If you are worried about a child's safety in connection with our work, tell us immediately. All concerns are taken seriously and handled with care. If a child is in danger, call Childline on 1098 or the emergency number 112 first.
This is a summary. The organisation's formal, signed policy document can be linked here when ready.
